The Groen Family Business
Owner Operator Paul Groen started working for his father (Lou Groen) in 1966, at Lou’s North Bend Road restaurant. Lou’s dedication and perseverance to be a great operator inspired Paul to emulate him. Twenty years later Paul fulfilled his own lifelong dream when he acquired two restaurants in Florence and Dry Ridge KY. Lou Retired in 1997 while Paul’s organization, Archways Bluegrass, grew from three to five restaurants.
Today Paul has five restaurants and his organization prides itself on having a solid reputation as a leader for the McDonald’s® brand. Paul is working on passing his legacy to two of his children, Grant and Erica. Grant became an approved Owner Operator in 2011 and is the current owner of the restaurants in Sparta, Florence/Turfway, Florence/Dream Street, Owenton, Alexandria, Independence, Wilder and Cold Spring. Grant also just recently purchased the Hebron restaurant in January 2019 from Paul. Erica became an approved McDonald’s Owner Operator herself in 2014, and most recently purchased the Crittenden, Union and Walton stores from Paul in January 2019. Today Erica owns twelve restaurants herself including: Erlanger/Dixie Hwy, Latonia, Edgewood, Taylor Mill, Western Woods, North Bend, and Price Hill. Together the Groen family now proudly operates 26 McDonald’s restaurants in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. We hope to entertain any comments you have and appreciate your business!
